In accordance with Section 3.4(b) of the Lusaka Securities Exchange Listings Requirements (“LuSE Listings Requirements”), the Board of Directors of CEC Africa Investments Limited (“the Company” or “CECA”) (the “Board”) hereby advises the Shareholders of the Company that the Earnings Per Share (“EPS”) for the six-month period ended 30 June 2019 was (0.98) kwacha which was a decline of approximately 56% compared to the six-month period ended 30 June 2018.

The movement in EPS is primarily attributed to the following:

  1. ) Increase in gross loss as a result of tariff shortfalls and also an increase in net finance costs;
  2. ) The depreciation of the Kwacha.

The Company expects its results for the six-month period ended 30 June 2019 to be released on SENS and published in the local press on or about 20th September 2019. Accordingly, Shareholders are advised to exercise caution when dealing in the Company’s securities until publication of the results.
